IED blast by Maoists in Chhattisgarh: Three CRPF personnel injured; two critical, one stable | Raipur News
RAIPUR: Three personnel of Central Reserve Police Force suffered injuries in an IED blast triggered by Maoists in insurgency-hit Bijapur district in Bastar division of Chhattisgarh on Tuesday evening. Condition of two jawans was stated to be critical while another was out of danger.Bijapur SP Jitendra Yadav told TOI that the personnel were part of the Road Opening Party and they were out on patrol when an IED blast went off, leaving the jawans severely injured.A CRPF officer said that it wasn’t yet clear if it was a pressure IED or command. He said that there was an exchange of fire between Maoists and security forces after the blast.The incident took place near Awapalli police station around Murdonda security camp and the injured jawans were immediately evacuated, followed by deployment of reinforcement.Police officials said that further details are awaited as the priority was to get the injured jawans safely to hospital.
